This place is a gem and a truly lucky find. Our new friend Lula from Playa Negra introduced us to her brother Oscar who lives in Liberia, a vibrant Costa Rican city on the Pan American Highway and just west of a volcanic mountain range. Oscar has a friend, also named Oscar, who manages a large chunk of dense rainforest on the North East side of the Volcan de la Vieja that has been in his family for generations. This location is fairly remote and once a road ends its thick jungle rainforest sights and sounds. This is the case with a trail filled with amentities Oscar maintains on their private property.
I was fortunate enough to enjoy in the middle of a Costa Rican rain forest that a property owner named Oscar and his Cabanas Las Bromelias team built and maintain. It makes a pool about 4 feet deep that fills with warm termal mineral water heated by Volcan Rincon de la Vieja.
